Better known for its RAM modules and kits G.Skill has started talking about the next best thing in its storage offer, two 2.5-inch SATA II solid state drivers. Looking to replace the company's "older" SATA 1.5 Gbps drivers, the new releases have 32 and 64 GB worth of storage and they each weight about 73 grams.

With MTBF (mean time before failure) ratings of over 2 million hours, the SSDs promise to offer high reliability and also low power consumption and attractive transfer speeds - up to 100 MB/s and 80 MB/s when reading and writing respectively. Unfortunately, you can expect them to have some not so attractive price tags. No word on availability for now.
